This spectacular Druzy Quartz Matrix Specimen is from The Herkimer Diamond Mines KOA Resort in Middleville, New York!
This specimen was a section of the roof of a Herkimer Diamond Pocket. It consists of a piece of gray dolostone matrix covered in a layer of druzy quartz with white dolomite crystals, black hydrocarbon, and even a thin coating of calcite in some sections. This piece has lots of little finger-like stalactite appendages, its so gorgeous and unique! Mined by hand in the summer of 2020.
