1st Texas Cavalry - Star Belt Plate - Engraved Confederate States - CSA 1862:
$72.00
The 1st Texas Cavalry was formed by consolidation in 1862 and it was outfitted with whatever waist-belt plates were locally available from various small workshops. Today, genuine original 1862 Confederate cavalry buckles are exceptionally rare, and heavily faked. I suspect that this is one of those \"commemorative\" plates, likely from the mid-20th century. The metal is non-magnetic, possibly pewter.Still, it\'s good looking.It\'s a waist belt plate that could be riveted onto a buckle or leather belt.Measures: 3.5\" x 2.25\" Weighs: 3 oz.
