Original Vintage 1988 St Tropez Restaurant Menu 3170 North Sheridan Road Chicago Illinois
St. Tropez opened in early 1987 at 3170 N. Sheridan Road, taking over the street-level Belmont Hotel room that George Badonsky\'s seafood restaurant Tango had occupied until it closed in 1986. The kitchen was run by French chef Guy Petit, trained at the Plaza Athénée in Paris and previously at Maxim\'s and Cricket\'s in Chicago, who served classic French dishes such as rabbit braised with bacon and mushrooms and chicken Basquaise in two dining rooms separated by a glass wall. Business never turned over fast enough to repay the cost of the rebuild, and the restaurant closed after about a year.
It measures 11.5\" x 9\" closed and 18\" x 11.5\" open
