American Motors Corp. completed work Monday on the first 1984 Renault Encore, a hatchback version of the Renault Alliance. George Maddox, vice president of manufacturing, drove the three door model off the assembly line at the AMC plant in Kenosha. With him was Gene Sylvester, president of Local 72 of the United Auto Workers. AMC said the Encore will be in showrooms this fall with a base price of $6,365.Photo measures 10 x 7.25inches.
