UPPER HOPPER IS SOLDERED TOGETHER WITH A LEAD BASED SOLDER. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU SCRUB AND WASH ALL PARTS OF THE GRINDER THOROUGHLY BEFORE USE. IF YOU ARE CONSCIOUSNESS ABOUT LEAD EXPOSURE, PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM. ALSO THE PARTS ON THIS GRINDER HAVE A LAYER OF SOVIET ERA COSMOLINE AS A STORAGE PROTECTANT THAT WILL NEED TO BE SCRUBBED AND WASHED OFF. ALSO, GRINDER BURRS ARE CAST IRON AND CAN WEAR DOWN AND PUT MICROSCOPIC PIECES OF CAST IRON INTO YOUR FINISHED GRIND OVER TIME. THIS IS A VINTAGE PIECE MADE BEFORE MODERN SAFETY STANDARDS.
