The Go-Go Globetrotters Show Publicity Cel (Hanna-Barbera, 1970). The Harlem Globetrotters Saturday morning cartoon produced by Hanna-Barbera ran for 2 seasons on CBS between 1970 and 1972. It featured Meadowlark Lemon, Freddie \"Curly\" Neal, Hubert \"Geese\" Ausbie, J.C. \"Gip\" Gipson, Bobby Joe Mason, and Paul \"Pablo\" Robertson, alongside their fictional bus driver and manager Granny and their dog mascot Dribbles.
The show has a place in history as being the first Saturday morning cartoon to feature a predominantly African-American cast. Only 22 original series episodes were ever made, but the show was popular enough to spawn a Gold Key comic book series.
Here is an original hand-painted publicity cel of the entire cast from Go-Go Globetrotters Show The 12\" x 8\" image features each character in full-figure with their name beneath. It\'s a remarkable cel from this cartoon classic that is credited with pioneering racial diversity in children\'s cartoon entertainment.
The cel is 12.5 x 10.5 and is supported with a background paper. The cel is stuck to the background paper and I have not tried to separate them for fear of damaging the paint.
