Arcumeggia, a small Italian village near the Swiss border in the northern Italian mountains, several years ago hit on an idea to attract tourists and brighten their town. They invited Italy's most famous artists to spend short vacations, with free room and board with each artist in exchange agreeing to paint a fresco on the outside wall of a house. Among those accepting the offer was Aligi Saussu who painted his mural "Cyclists" as a tribute to the country's favorite sport. Other artists who painted frescoes were Giuseppe Montanari, Achille Funi, Fiorenzo Tomea, Cristoforo DeAmicis, Giuseppe Migneco and Gianfilipo Usellini. Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches.
