Our research shows that only 5 similar clocks made in Germany have come up for sale in the last 20 years, all in the more common round swirl pattern. This square sunburst style clock seems to be the brainchild of a short lived partnership between Sunbeam and the Golden Shield Corp in the early 1960s. As far as we can tell, one of these has never come up for sale. This seems to be an ultra rare clock and could be the crown jewel in someone's atomic collection.
We put in a new battery to see if the mechanism would run. The mechanism is running but is not moving freely. We decided we did not want to tamper with such a rare and important piece of atomic era clock history, so left it exactly as found.
The clock measures approximately 14.5 inches x 14.5 inches.
