Diameter approximately 2-7/8 inches.
Cast bronze or brass alloy construction.
Issued in 1951 for the 250th anniversary of the founding of Detroit.

Front side
Depicts Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac with his company of colonists.
Commemorates the founding of Detroit on 24 July 1701.
Edge inscription lists Cadillac’s birth and death dates, born 5 March 1658 and died 15 October 1730.
Scene represents early contact and settlement during Detroit’s founding period.

Reverse side
Depicts the American Hotel Block in Detroit.
Inscription states building was built in 1807.
Remodeled and operated as a hotel beginning in 1835.
Located at the southeast corner of Jefferson and Randolph streets.
Notes that a drug store operated there in 1833.
Marks the founding location of Eaton Chemical and Dyestuff Company.
Company established in Detroit by Theodore Horatio Eaton.
