For your consideration is a 1950s Vintage Zippo Lighter Pine Hall Brick & Pipe Co Winston-Salem Pat 2517191. condition is rough , but this is a rare one.. Someone did a bit of carving on it...Thankfully, not on the money shot, there is a name, John and grave on it, and then a bunch of scribble all the way around the hinges shot and has a makeshift pin in the hinge., and the internals are rusted.This lighter is noncfunctioning.It will need some work or just add it to your local Winston-Salem.North carolina collection as is .. Pine Hall Brick Company has a deep history rooted in North Carolina\'s rich clay resources and industrial boom of the early 20th century.Core History TimelineThe Founding (1922): The company was founded on August 7, 1922, by Flake Steele, Sr. in the small town of Pine Hall, North Carolina. Steele purchased a defunct brick-making facility known as Consolidated Brick Company and revitalized it.Family Connections: Flake\'s father, J.C. Steele, was the founder of J.C. Steele & Sons in Statesville, NC—a highly successful company famous for manufacturing automated clay extrusion and brick-making equipment. Flake utilized his family\'s state-of-the-art machinery to establish a top-tier manufacturing pipeline.Early Operations & Expansion: Production started with 7 round \"beehive\" kilns making standard bricks and clay piping. In 1924, the company officially moved its administrative headquarters to Winston-Salem, NC. Bricks were moved into the city by railcar via layers of protective straw to prevent chipping.Consolidation (1936): The company purchased Madison Brick Company in 1936 and gradually consolidated most of its primary manufacturing operations to Madison, North Carolina.Modern Era: Over the decades, Pine Hall Brick grew aggressively into a national brand. It expanded with new automated facilities, including major plants in Georgia.
