No cracking, splitting, missing edges, and feature the original hanging ribbons on all 6 pieces!Up for sale/sale is a stunning selection of vintage Japanese postcards, marketed via GNCO, a N.Y. based souvenir company, circa; 1950\'s Post-WarThese cards feature a wonderful example of the Japanese take on the whimsical cartoon artwork which was popular in the 50\'s in American Culture. The cards were printed on pressed wood, using lithograph and die cutting machines, inked in vibrant red and black, and feature 3D moving eyes which have stood strong for over 70 years! Very few blemishes, no writing or structural cracking, and only minor chipping around the eye socket cutouts, most likely from the stamping machine.These cards offer a look into some of the earliest mass-produced exports from Japan to the United States markets once Japan regained sovereignty. Perfect for postcard collectors, history & Americana collectors, history buffs, or anyone looking for unique pieces to frame and display. Some slight aging of the pulp on the reverse side, but all printing is 100% perfect!I have been able to find one of these cards with several web searches (the Alligator), which had some worn red ink, which was listed for $35.
