Original grouping consisting of approximately 90 vintage black-and-white U.S. Navy photographs together with an original USS Valley Forge (CV-45) commissioning invitation/program.
The invitation is for the commissioning ceremony of USS Valley Forge at the U.S. Naval Base, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on November 3, 1946.
The photographs appear to date from the immediate post-World War II period and document naval life aboard ship and in port. Subjects include:
