Offered for your World War 2 home front collection is this extremely scarce 1942-1943 US Army Prohibited Zone cloth sign affixed to a wooden frame.
United States Army Eastern Military Area
HQ Eastern Defense Command (tasked with the defense of the Eastern Seaboard of the USA), First Army, Governors Island (Fort Jay) New York commanded by Lt. General Hugh A. Drum.
This Prohibited Zone was authorized by Executive Order 9066, the same Executive Order that allowed for the internment of Japanese citizens on the West Coast of the United States.
