This 1940s Golden Trout Emperor Grapes crate label came out of the W. F. Cosart Packing Co. packing house in Exeter, California. Measuring 13" × 4 1/2", it is a New Old Stock example of mid‑century California grape packaging in an elongated strip format.
The label remains unused and unmounted, with no wear, retaining strong color and clean edges. W. F. Cosart Packing Co. was an established Exeter‑area packer and shipper active for much of the twentieth century, using multiple registered brand names for Emperor grapes and other fruit.
Mid‑century Emperor grape labels are valued for their bold graphic design and regional branding, particularly when preserved in unused condition. A solid example for collectors of California agricultural history and crate label art.
