1933 Original Press Photo by ACME.Spanknoebel note to leading German-American dated October 29.
Above is a letter written by Herr Spanknoebel, alleged Nazi agent, dated October 29, which disproves the contention that he had sailed incognito on the Hamburg American liner Deutschland, October 25. The letter had been shoved under the door of Dr. Ignatz Griebel, noted surgeon, last night or yesterday.
The gist of the letter was that Spanknoebel was leaving the United States and that he "will not find justice facing Jewish judges."
The letter is now in possession of United States District Attorney George Z. Medalie. Dr. Griebel resides in New York City and is president of the New Friends of Germany.
