Description
This is an exceptionally rare Imperial Japanese Navy technical manual, titled Joki Kikai Sho (“Steam Machinery Manual”).
Originally compiled in Meiji 2 (1869) by the Navy Workshop & Engineering School, this edition was officially reprinted in 1934 (Showa 9) by the Navy Engineering Society for use in modern naval mechanical training.
The book contains detailed explanations of:
- Steam engine structure
- Boilers, pistons, crank mechanisms
- Early Japanese naval engineering concepts
- Large fold-out technical diagrams and machine drawings
- Historical seals from Navy Engineering School / Navy Engineering Society
This was an internal-use technical textbook used for training Navy engineering officers and machinists.
