The Pullman Company dominated American luxury rail travel for nearly a century, operating sleeping cars, dining cars, and parlor cars on railroads across the nation. Pullman passes are among the most collectible railroad ephemera due to the company’s legendary status.
The Florida East Coast Railway was built by Standard Oil magnate Henry Flagler and literally opened up Florida’s east coast to development and tourism. The line extended all the way to Key West via the famous Overseas Railroad (destroyed in the 1935 hurricane).
The RF&P Railroad served as the vital connection between the South and the nation’s capital, carrying passengers and freight between Richmond and Washington, D.C.
These passes represent the interconnected nature of American railroading in 1926, when cooperation between lines was essential for cross-country travel.
