This vintage Gillette set from the 1920s is a rare find for collectors. The two-tone Old Type Set features a rare trapezoidal case , and the razor features a gold ball end handle and a silver top cap and open comb. The brand is synonymous with quality and this set is no exception.
The top cap and baseplate shine and are in excellent condition. The open comb teeth are rock solid. The gold ball end handle shows its age but still boasts a nice gold finish. The handle bears the Jan. 13, 1920 Patent Stamp. The handle does have the typical hairline fissure towards the ball end, which doesn’t affect the quality of the shave.
The set also includes a silver Gillette blade holder with five Vintage Gillette Thin Blades The case is rare, classy, and beautiful. This case is not scattered around the wet shaving open market. The inside is in fair condition and the Gillette logo is clearly visible. The outside shows its age but the rich, warm burgundy color is the show stopper. This is a rare and stylish Gillette set.
