This listing is for the handwritten letter to Charles W. Parker, of Meriden Connecticut, who did advertising for Barnum & Bailey. We have other items from the estate listed separately unless otherwise sold .
Original November 17, 1914 typed letter on Barnum & Bailey Greatest Show on Earth advertising department letterhead, sent from Indianapolis, Indiana to Mr. Charles W. Parker of Meriden, Connecticut. The content humorously discusses financial prudence for an agent, with the sender noting he will discuss matters further in person. Signed in ink by J.D. Thurman or Newman.
Letter is on period circus stationery with ornate logo at top, measures approx. 8.5\" x 11\", single sheet, blank reverse. Shows light toning, folds from mailing, splitson edge folds,and minor edge wear. A genuine piece of early 20th-century circus history from the Barnum & Bailey era prior to the 1919 merger with Ringling Bros.
