A two-piece lot of Baker\'s Chocolate advertising ephemera from Walter Baker & Co., Ltd. of Dorchester, Massachusetts, tied to the 1904 St. Louis World\'s Fair. The first piece is a \"Baker\'s Caracas Sweet Chocolate\" wrapper, one-eighth pound net weight, picturing a colonial-costumed woman carrying a chocolate service and citing the brand\'s medals from the 1900 Paris Exposition and the 1904 St. Louis Exposition; it is further marked \"Guaranteed by Walter Baker & Co., Ltd., under the Food and Drugs Act, June 30, 1906, Serial No. 90.\" The second piece is a smaller advertising card headed \"This Trade-Mark Is the Guarantee,\" again showing the same colonial \"chocolate girl\" figure and touting \"Fifty-two Highest Awards in Europe and America\"; its reverse explains the registered \"La Belle Chocolatière\" trademark carried on every genuine piece and urges buyers to \"be sure and get the genuine Baker\'s.\"
