Antique 19th Century Hand Carved Black Forest Swiss Holy Water Font,Dated to the late 19th or early 20th century. It is an unusual piece.The wooden plaque has a wonderful shape. Cross and flower decoration are finelycarved. The base, flowers and cross are made of one piece of lime wood. The Holy Water Font, made of lime tree too, is separately carved and fixed to the plaque.The cross is carved like a tree trunk and ornate with fine ivy leaves and small flowers.The torch to the left side - symbol of wisdom and the wings. Close to them a scroll withprobably Hebraic symbols.
