This "Buy it Now" offering is for three vintage antique clay poker chips engraved with a four-leafclover in three colors: red, white and blue. This is a historic chip design dating from the late 1800s that appeared as early as 1895 in the Samuel Nafew Co. (New York/Chicago) catalogs of gambling supplies. These are nice examples of this historic design that poker chip collectors know as Clover (PL-CY) and these chips are rated an "e" on the rarity scale.Clay chips like these began replacing ivory chips beginning in the 1880s and were made in many differentdesigns for gamblinghouses to prevent players from bringing in their own identical chips ratherthan “buying in.” The diverse and graphic designs make them popular withcollectors today. These chips would make a greataddition to any poker chip or game collection or as a gift for the pokerenthusiast.
These are standard size 1.5-inch diameter chips.
