Original 1890 Pabst Brewing Company “Still More Secrets” advertising booklet, published by Pabst Brewing Co. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
This 19th-century promotional booklet combines humorous riddles, jokes and illustrations with extensive advertising for Pabst beer and “The Best” Tonic Malt Extract.
Interior pages feature Pabst Brewing Co. imagery, a period bottle illustration, advertising for the company’s malt extract, information about Pabst beer production, and numerous Victorian-era cartoons and jokes.
The final page is marked:
“17,000,000 Edition. Copyrighted 1890. King, Fowle & Co., Printers, Mil.”
The booklet also advertises the earlier “Secrets” and “More Secrets” booklets and identifies this example as the third installment, “Still More Secrets.”
Condition: Original antique condition with considerable age-related wear. Covers show fading, surface wear, staining/spotting, edge and corner wear and small losses. Interior pages have toning, creases, staining and handling wear. Binding remains intact. Please examine all photographs closely for condition.
A very interesting piece of pre-Prohibition Pabst Brewing Company advertising, and a nice crossover collectible for antique beer, breweriana, Milwaukee and Victorian advertising collectors.
