Exceptional antique Doulton Lambeth stoneware commemorative vase celebrating the presentation of the prestigious Albert Medal by the Society of Arts to Sir Henry Doulton in 1885. This historically significant piece features finely executed hand-incised scrollwork and applied white sprigged decoration on a buff stoneware body.
The front displays a raised profile portrait medallion of the Prince of Wales framed by ornate decoration and topped by the Prince of Wales feathers crest. The reverse bears a commemorative inscription referencing the presentation to Henry Doulton on December 21, 1885.
Produced at the renowned Lambeth Art Pottery works, this vase represents an important piece of Doulton history and Victorian commemorative pottery.
