Type: Victorian Trade Card AdvertisementAge: 1860's to 1870'sSize: See picture with rulers.Subject Matter: African AmericansTown: Marshalltown, IAFor: M. Ash's Restaurant under Marshalltown BankNote: This place is not found anywhere in Library of Congress, Iowa History, Marshalltown History. I did find the Bank. First National Bank of Marshalltown. I found an M. Ruebon Ash in the 1860's part of the Mason's in Marshalltown and he was elderly around 1906. Most Marshalltown early Businesses are hard to find any information on. This has to be the rarest find of any of them.
Notice the Newspaper in the one card reads The American Citizen, but spelled wrong with an "s" which was a newly created paper in 1863 that gave updated information on the Civil War.
These are from my personal collection. I am in no hurry to part with them so cost is cost!
