A wonderful 1785 letter from John Tayler while serving in the New York State Assembly.
He would later be the 5th Governor of New York State.
"Sir, I have requested the bearer Capt. Lewis to call on you for five or six hundred weight of White Rope for lines & Traces and to pay you Ten Pounds. The remainder I will pay you in six weeks. Should it suit you, I would wish to have that quantity sent by him. The Trace Rope of a small size & Two Thirds of the Quantity on Hand. I am Sir, Your Most obed't servant, John Tayler, Albany, 8 Novr 1785."

You will need to work through Sales Tax issues with if for some reason you feel you should not be automatically charged sales tax. I cannot do anything about sales tax as takes it and I never see it.
