STUNNING 17-INCH OAXACAN ANGEL BY ALBERTO JIMENEZ OJEDA
Up for sale is a vibrant, hand-carved masterpiece from the renowned Jimenez family of Oaxaca. This 17-inch angel features the intricate floral patterns and bold colors that have made Alberto Jimenez Ojeda a staple in Mexican folk art collections.
CONDITION NOTE: This piece is a "survivor." It has a wing tip break on the tip of the left wing (see photos). However, the carving remains structurally sound, the colors are brilliant, and the signature on the base is clear.
Because of the wing tip, I am pricing this significantly below gallery value. This is a rare opportunity to own a large-scale Jimenez piece at a fraction of the cost. Perfect for a collector who values character or a restorer who can add a touch of "elbow grease" to the wing.
Shipping: Will be packed with "white glove" care—wings will be detached and double-wrapped to ensure no further damage. Ships fast from Phoenix, AZ.
