This stunning European Art Nouveau art glass vase is blown in beautifully graduating colors, transitioning from rich emerald green to crystal-clear glass. The vase has an exceptionally elegant baluster form and is decorated with finely executed hand-painted enamel and gold ornamentation, displaying impressive detail and craftsmanship throughout. Monumental size. Heavy in weight.
The Art Nouveau decoration features delicate pine cones suspended from graceful branches, surrounded by pine needles and complemented by geometric Nouveau-style borders. The combination of the naturalistic and geometric motifs creates a striking and sophisticated decorative scheme.
The rim and entire underside of the vase have been ground, polished, and cut, creating beautifully finished surfaces that complement the elegant form. The underside bears an etched design number 4479/25D.
The vase is attributed to a Bohemian glasshouse, possibly Josephinenhütte or Harrach, and dates to the Art Nouveau period. While the exact maker cannot be confirmed, the form, coloration, decoration, and quality of workmanship are consistent with fine Bohemian art glass of the era.
