Indonesian army used M1 helmet clone and liner
I am unsure about the maker of the shell, I believe it to be a local copy of the M1 fixed bale, with the following differences:- non stainless steel rim- rear seam- crude non stainless bales- no heat stamp
Half of the chinstrap is missing, the other half is a locally made copy of the standard US M1 khaki strap held by a rivet.
The paint on the shell is worn thin due to storage, however is still well visible the National insignia of IndonesiaThe liner is a Westinghouse WWII production. It has several coats of paints over the original green. The last layer sports the same emblem as the shell.
This helmet was used by the Indonesian army in the decade following Independence from The Netherlands - 1960sIn the 1970s German made M1s were introduced.
