template[Near Mint] Spode Blue Room Collection Ruins 28cm Large Plate, Made in England
Description
This is a large \"Ruins\" pattern plate from Spode\'\'s Regency series in the Blue Room Collection. I believe this refers not to ruins, but rather castle ruins or historical sites. In fact, there are many similar-looking monastery ruins and castle ruins in the British countryside.
While I was naturally drawn to the main design, I also purchased it because of the adorable acorns around the rim. The vividly depicted oak leaves are also a sight to behold.
While this series was first released in 1848, I believe this piece is more recent.
It is in excellent condition, with no signs of use or damage, and the slightly thick porcelain exudes a rustic warmth. The plate is deeper in the center, making it easy to use and enjoyable.
Spode products are quite expensive, even at Western department stores that carry current Spode products. Please understand this before purchasing.Diameter: Approximately 28 cm, Depth: Approximately 3 cm
