The supplies one uses for Sofrus must all be kosher and mehudar. The ink used for writing may not come from a non-kosher animal. Ink used for writing Tefillin, Mezuzahs or Sifrey Torah must be kosher. The parchment it is being written on must be from a kosher animal and processed in accordance to Halacha.
Throughout the years, technological advances have made the work of Sofrus considerably easier to perform. Any available machinery and technology may be used to simplify the work load for the Sofer, to aid with perfecting the tools, to prepare the materials, etc. However, the actual inscription of a Sefer Torah, Tefillin, or Mezuzah must still be done manually, using ink and quill in accordance to Halacha, without any technological help.For large quantities please contact me through the seller's account
