✿ Lot 03: c.1920s Hartley’s Stoneware Preserve Pot with Ten Victorian Clay Pipes For Sale

HELLO!

✿ A charming Edwardian cream-coloured stoneware preserve jar by Hartley’s, featuring fine vertical striping down the body—an understated decorative touch typical of early 20th-century domestic ware. This pot comes accompanied by ten hand-dug Victorian clay pipes, each one a relic of everyday ritual and quiet craftsmanship. ✿ Originally used for jam or marmalade, the pot now lends itself beautifully to storing utensils, pencils, flowers, or brushes. It measures approximately 10 cm tall × 8 cm in diameter, suggesting a half-pound capacity.✿ Condition Notes: This pot shows gentle signs of age, including minor nibbles and hairlines that add to its character. As with many dug items, there may be light staining, glaze crazing, or other imperfections—testament to its long burial and careful recovery from a Victorian landfill site. All items have been thoroughly cleaned and are ready for display or repurposing.
