🎖️ EARLY 1900’S STONEWALL JACKSON CIGAR BOX (EMPTY)🇨🇦
An interesting piece of Canadian advertising history! Early 1900’s wooden Stonewall Jackson cigar box, manufactured by H. Jacobs & Co. of Montréal, originally holding 100 cigars.
📜 The illustrated interior features American Civil War Confederate general Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson, surrounded by cannons, drums, swords and military equipment, with the bold slogan “Jackson — Never Beaten.”
🍁 Retains its Canadian revenue stamp marked “One Hundred Cigars,” along with factory markings underneath: Factory No. 20, I.R.D. 17.
🔎 Plenty of interesting advertising details, including “60 Years Continuous Supremacy” and a label explaining that each cigar carried an identifying ribbon. There’s even a printed warning of a $200 fine for putting other cigars in the box!
🪵 Wooden construction with illustrated paper labels, red paper edging and bold lettering. A fascinating display piece for collectors of Canadian advertising, cigar boxes and historical memorabilia.
📸 Shows age-related staining, worn edges, paper tears and losses, with separation along the paper hinge area. Please examine the photos for condition. Empty box sold as a collectible.
