Order of the Arrow pocket flap from Blackhawk Lodge 94 — the S5c issue in the OA Insignia Guide (ISCA) cataloging.
Blackhawk Lodge 94 (Piasa Bird Council, Wood River, Illinois) was chartered in 1936; in 1990 it merged with Cahokia Lodge 126 to form Kishkakon Lodge 32, so this lodge has been gone for over 35 years. This is the lodge\'s 1980s standard flap: light blue twill with a red merrowed border, the diving black hawk clutching a red arrow in front of a white circle with a yellow ring, \"WWW\" in yellow with a gold fleur-de-lis above it at the left, and \"94\" in yellow at the right. There is no lodge-name text on the flap.
The details that pin this to the S5c issue: the hawk has no eye, and the back is cloth — the reverse stitching shows through on the twill, with no plastic/PVC backing. (The near-identical S5d has a blue eye and a plastic back; the S5a/S5b are plastic-backed.) The second photo shows the back of the flap — the design reads in reverse, including the \"94,\" because it is the exposed reverse side of the embroidery.
These flaps are brand new old stock: never worn, never sewn, uncirculated, and stored since new. You are buying one flap from a small hoard of identical mint copies; the front and back photos show the issue and its backing exactly.
Insurance included.
