Antique~Sepia-Toned~Cabinet Card~Photograph~Unidentified Gentleman~Late 1800's~6.5" x 4.25"~This fell out of an antique photo album that held many cabinet cards.Cabinet card, a popular style of photographic portrait introduced in the 1860s and widely used through the 1890s.The bottom mount is marked with the studio name "Elrod" and the location "Louisville, Ky."An unknown man dressed in a formal period suit and patterned tie, typical of 1880s or 1890s fashion.The common last name on a majority of the cards in the book is COBB, from Louisville, KY. Book could have been many family members from that area, whose cabinet cards are in the book. This has been packed away with other cabinet cards for many years, stored in a climate controlled and smoke free storage room. Please view all photos and enlarge photos for additional details.
