This original-looking wooden crate is prominently stenciled with “Quaker Wheat Berries,” “Puffed and Baked,” “The Best Whole Wheat Food in the World,” and identifies The Quaker Oats Company, Chicago, U.S.A.
The crate features its original-style wooden slat construction, hinged wooden lid, metal hinges and rope handles. The original Quaker advertising remains visible on multiple sides.
Historical Quaker Wheat Berries advertisements date to the early 1900s, and period advertising describes the product as whole wheat that was puffed/baked and ready to eat.
Approximate age: Appears to be early 20th century; exact date unknown.
