** Original Vintage Black &White Photograph / Souvenir Photo Set **
Juarez Mexico - c1897 - 1901
Offeredfor sale is an original vintage black and white photograph.
• The Business Address: The text prints the location as 88 Main Street, Ciudad Juarez, México. Commercial El Paso Daily Herald archives from March 1897 note that the Juarez Curio Co. established its large storefront directly on this main street under its original management.
• The \"Last Chance\" Liquidation: Historical records indicate that the company ran a major clearance sale to phase out this exact inventory profile (\"drawn work, filigree, cigars, etc.\") at the turn of the century, ultimately liquidating and restructuring around April 1900.
• The Printer Mark: The lower-right corner displays the printer credit: \"Tip. de Müller Hnos., C. Juarez\" (Müller Brothers Printing Shop). The Müller brothers ran a prominent typography press in the Paso del Norte / Juarez border area predominantly during the late Porfiriato era (1890s–1900s).
Clues in the Images
• Top Photo (International Bridge, Mexican Side): This shows an early mule-drawn streetcar crossing the original wooden international bridge connecting El Paso, Texas, and Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.
• Middle Photo (Bull Ring: Matador Killing Bull): This captures a bullfight at the historic Plaza de Toros in Ciudad Juárez, a major attraction for American tourists at the turn of the century.
• Bottom Photo (\"Burro\" Wood Train): This depicts local sellers using a line of pack donkeys (burros) loaded with firewood, a common sight in the region during the 1890s and 1900s.
