This is a stunning and rarely depicted Antique Mid Century Modern Tiki Tribal Still Life Oil Painting on Masonite board, depicting a Moai figure from Easter Island, and a heavily ornamented mask which I cannot identify, but is likely Polynesian or Micronesian. This painting approximately dates to the 1950’s - 1960’s, and was acquired from an old Malibu estate. The details are amazing and almost photorealistic. The work is signed: “R. Wenzel” in the lower left corner. I cannot find much information on R. Wenzel, perhaps you recognize the artist or his work? Approximately 25 x 28 7/8 inches (including frame.)
