Very unusual Scottish Triple mounted on wood. This is beautifully done on a dark red wood with the sides painted soft gold. The degree was “laminated” or “shallacked” or “lacquered” onto the wood.
Name on the Degree is George Alterbaum. And I wondered if maybe this was a Jewish refugee from Germany.
It’s heavy and well made. It measures approximately 21 1/2” across 17 1/2” tall.
It’s signed and the Schools include Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Info on the Scottish Triple:
The Scottish Triple was a GMC-approved non-University route to a medical degree for over 100 years. It was notably used imaginatively to provide routes to qualification in the UK for disadvantaged or minority groups, including women, refugees, and immigrants
