This was purchased in Manila Philippines in 1985. It was VERY expensive back then.
The craftsmanship is exquisite and very detailed. The colors are gorgeous and change when you hold it in your hand in the sunshine!
It sat on a dresser for 20+ years before putting it into a safety deposit box to ensure it never got damaged…I have inspected well and can not find anything other than a few minor scratches/spots on the dark bottom side.
It measures (approximately): 4 1/8\" wide 2 7/8\" deep 2 3/16\" tall 1 3/16\" Lid when opened measurement/tall 1\" Bottom of trinket box tall - where you would place your jewelry
If you flip the trinket box over the bottom is made of the same type of Mother of Pearl/Abalone material but in very dark colors.
