Beautiful example of early polychrome turkey by Native American potter Sarah Garcia (1928 - 2015). Probably produced in the 1960s- 70s.
Sarah Garcia is one of the recognized early potters from Acoma Puebla in New Mexico. Sarah is the Daughter-in-Law of Jessie Garcia, another well-known potter in the Sun Clan.
Note, this piece has been repaired and shows a crack around the lower portion below tail and neck. A small piece is missing from the rear. The repair is very solid.About 4 1/2\" tall and 4 1/2\" wide.
