This vintage Vitascope automaton clock is a charming piece of early 20th-century art deco style. The clock features a pink bakelite case and an animated nautical character that moves as time passes. The clock is from 1947 and has a Ferranti Electric Clock Movement.
The clock is in great working condition and has a night light feature. It weighs 2627 grams and has a width of 22cm and a height of 31.5cm. The clock has a vintage feel to it and would make a great addition to any collection.
The ship pitches and yaws, and the skyline subtly changes with a rotating wheel that creates shades of sunlight..
Rewired by previous owner, and pat tested by us. Seen working, and a video of the ship movement can be sent, if required.
The ship action is triggered by a manual dial, but once moving, the powered clock movement maintains the ships mesmerising movement.
A beautiful item, and appears to keep good time.

The original pink case has faded somewhat, and a ghost imprint of the past shows that it was inoperative for many years, as a shadow of less faded Bakelite of the hands appears at 3.03pm…
