THIS IS A GREAT PIECE OF HISTORY TO OWN.
Only parting with this due to necessity otherwise I would be keeping in my collection.
Note:
This map came folded up in a Polish book that I purchased; along with it was a yellow envelope that has the same address as the stamp on the back of map, also was a page from a 1974 newspaper written in Polish. I will include the envelope and newspaper with the map, for authenticity purposes.
This map was based on information collected by Stefan Guirardm, Janusz Gumkowski, and Kazimierz Leszczynski. Janusz Gumkowski was a prominent Polish Jewish lawyer and historian, who was director for the main commission regarding the investigation of Nazi crimes in Poland. The editor was Jan Laskowski, a prominent cartographer, World War II veteran, and member of the Komisja who dedicated his life to studying war crimes.
All lines of evidence show that this map was produced using the most accurate and impartial historical sources. The language on the map is simple, naming only "Hitler's Atrocities," and there is no evidence of a clear anti-German bias. A map depicting the Nazi crimes in Poland.
It was edited for the Council for Protection of Fight and Martyrdom Monuments and is based on documents of the Central Commission for the Investigation of Nazi Crimes in Poland.
Condition is good to very good. Note map has 0.8cm spilt crease and fold lines in back of map. Also noted some of the edges are darkened, primarily in the back. Please see photos for condition.
Please note in some of the pictures the red writing at the bottom appears faded, IT IS NOT, THIS is lighting.
This map was commissioned by the Główna Komisja Ścigania Zbrodni przeciwkoNarodowi Polskiemu.
The map reflects research conducted in the 1960s and '70s that was critical to preserving knowledge of the Holocaust.
