This is a stunning ornate antique French Monstrance used by Catholic churches to display the Blessed Sacrament. Well made with eye catching golden rays extending from the top. Ornate details like a lamb of God symbol on the base and raised angel cherub heads throughout. Unmarked, the base is likely silverplate. A nice medium size, this is perfect for a home or chapel.Age-related surface wear and signs of use. Tarnish to areas of the silverplate. The front glass has cracked as seen in photos. The rear door opens and closes easily. There is no luna holder present for the host. The stand has a dirty top with darkening. Please review photos for further assessment. The monstrance alone measures 18.5 inches high, 10 inches wide and 3.5 inches deep. The opening for the host is approximately 1.75 inches in diameter. Weighs approximately 3 pounds.The stand is separate, made from a very heavy solid brass metal that weighs 6 pounds. Measures 10.75 inches wide, 10.75 inches deep and 5.25 inches high. The sides have an ornate open air Fleur-de-lis grill work. The base does not sit perfectly level and will shift when engaged.Rare to find a stand and monstrance like this together.
