Antique Stonebridge Folding Lantern, patented 1906-1908, C.H. Stonebridge Mfg. Co., New York City, USA. Aluminum lantern is a family estate item and was most likely used in the anthracite coal mines in Northeastern Pennsylvania. It is also possible that it was used during WW I, but there are no military markings, and the military lanterns were often made of steel instead of aluminum. Lantern stands 10\" high, 4\" wide, and 4.25\" deep. The folding action has not been tested. Other condition issues:One of the mica windows is damaged. Wear, corrosion, rust inside and out from use.
