This piece was purchased from the estate of an antiquities collector - we currently also have a few other piece from this estate up for sale at this time. Everything seems correct on this piece referencing its age. This two handled tin alloy two handled pedestal bowl (most likely used for fruit or bread). Clearly there is old rust on some areas of the piece and gilt wear. It is appropriately hand wrought with individual welds holding the separate cast pieces together. The gilt loss reveals an almost copper like appearance consistent with the appearance of similar gilt pieces from the period found in museums. This is a museum quality piece measuring 23 5/16" long; 11 7/16" at its widest; and 8 1/8" tall. Please read condition report and see photos.
