This watercolor painting was done by Navajo artist Robert Draper (1938-2000). It shows a snow covered landscape possibly on the edge of Canyon de Chelly. A figure is walking towards the hogan. The desert plants reflect the glowing yellow golds of the sky
The painting has been nicely matted, framed and covered with glass. The frame measures 12 1/4\" x 16 1/4\". The image size inside the mat is 6 1/2\" x 10 1/2\". It is signed in the lower right. This painting is in great vintage condition.
Robert Draper was born in 1938 on the Navajo (Diné) Reservation. He attended the Chinle, Arizona Boarding School and the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe. Today he is an art instructor and a full-time artist.
