Roald Dahl Family Heirloom Italian Renaissance Revival Gilt on Bronze Chandelier For Sale

Offered for sale is a beautiful Italian Renaissance Revival Gilt on Bronze chandelier. This beautiful chandelier came from the Naples, Florida estate home of the extended family of Roald Dahl, the beloved children's author of classics Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the BFG, Matilda and James and the Giant Peach. The chandelier is gilt on bronze in the Italian Renaissance Revival Style, according to Ken Farmer of the Antiques Road Show, who identified the chandelier at an event on Marco Island. It does not appear that this chandelier was previously a gas light. Farmer dated this to approximately the 1920s. It weighs 42 pounds.
The chandelier is 26 inches wide and 26 inches long. Four arms hold 8 beautiful ladies holding torch lights to illuminate the way. The chandelier suffered some damage when it was removed from the estate. One of the 8 glass globes was broken. These will need to be replaced. The original globes are available, however it would be very difficult to find a match. In addition, the hanging hook was cut. This has been repaired but the buyer may choose to replace the hanging hook. Overall, a beautiful and rare find for your Italian Renaissance Revival home.
