This typed and signed letter is on letterhead for the United Nations (New York), and is signed by the noted diplomat Ralph J. Bunche, U.N. Under-Secretary. Bunch, of course, was the prominent African American diplomat noted as one of the most influential leaders of the mid-20th Century. He was instrumental in the founding of the United Nations, and received the Nobel Peace Price for his work in Israel in 1950.
The letter is addressed to Mr. Whittemore
The paper for the letter measures 11 inches by 8.5 inches with a UN Postmark, for New York, June 18, 1954, Both pieces are in very good condition. The letter has very clear type, with no tears or holes, and is on creamy white paper. The Bunche signature is very clear and legible.
The photography has the signature also with a pen, the frame is 13.5” x 12.5”
