GeorgeMichael Dolenz Jr.(bornMarch 8, 1945) is an American actor, musician, television director, radiopersonality and theater director, best known as a vocalist and drummer of the1960spop-rockbandthe Monkees.Dolenz was born at the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital (nowCedars-Sinai Medical Center), inLos Angeles,California,theson of actorsGeorge DolenzandJanelleJohnson. He has three younger sisters, Gemma Marie(\"Coco\"; born April 5, 1949), Deborah (born 1958), and Kathleen(\"Gina\"; born 1960). Gemma\'s nickname, Coco, is a shortened form of\"Coco Sunshine\", a nickname given to her as a child by Micky. Cocowas a frequent guest on the set ofThe MonkeesTV show andsometimes a guest performer on records by the Monkees, singing backgroundvocals or duetting with Micky. HerbertButros Khaury (April12, 1932 – November 30, 1996), also known asHerbert Buckingham Khauryandknown professionally asTiny Tim, was an American singer,ukuleleplayer,and musicalarchivist.Heis best remembered for his cover hits \"Tiptoe Through the Tulips\" and \"Livin\' in the Sunlight,Lovin\' in the Moonlight\", which he sang in afalsettovoice.Khaury was born inManhattan, New York City, on April 12,1932.\'His mother Tillie (née Staff), a Polish-Jewish garment worker, was thedaughter of arabbi.She had immigrated fromBrest-Litovsk,present-dayBelarus,as a teen in 1914. Khaury\'s father, Butros Khaury, was a textile father was aMaroniteCatholic priest. Khaury displayedmusical talent at a very young age. At the age of five, his father gave him avintage wind-upGramophoneand a 78-RPM record of \"BeautifulOhio\" by Henry Burr. He would sit for hours listening to the record. TheOur Gangshortswere later syndicated to television asThe Little Rascals. McFarlandwas born in Dallas, Texas, on October 2, 1928, to Virginia Winifred (néePhillips) and Robert Emmett McFarland.He had three siblings: Thomas(\"Tommy\", who appeared in a fewOur Gangepisodes as\"Dynamite\"), Amanda, and Roderick (\"Rod\"). He attendedLancaster High School in Lancaster, Texas. Before joining theOur Gangcomedies,\"Sonny\", as he was called by his family, modeled children\'s clothingfor a Dallas department store and was also seen around the Dallas area onhighwaybillboardsand in printadvertisements forWonder Bread. This established Sonny early onin the local public\'s eye as an adorable child model and provided experiencebefore cameras.
